Promise Peptides tesamorelin card, including the Rx only line

Promise Peptides currently prescribes tesamorelin at mypromise.com as prescription-only care.

Every request receives a clinical assessment from a clinician licensed in the U.S. That clinician decides on prescribing and refuses some requests.

Vyra Peptides, beyond the bathroom scale

The interesting turn comes when a weight-loss story reaches the liver. Tesamorelin and retatrutide have more to compare than the number on a scale.

The retatrutide liver substudy

An 82.4% reduction in relative liver fat deserves a closer look. In a liver-imaging substudy of retatrutide, 98 participants had obesity or overweight and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, or MASLD. They began with at least 10% liver fat measured by MRI-PDFF, an MRI measure of the proportion of fat in the liver. At 24 weeks, the group given 12 mg in the trial had that 82.4% relative reduction; 86% of the group reached liver fat below 5%.

I underestimated the liver question. This measurement gives it a much stronger claim on the conversation. It puts an organ, a measurement and a defined group of people behind a startling percentage.

The 48-week obesity trial measured body weight: mean change was -24.2% in its 12 mg group versus -2.1% with placebo. These percentages describe different outcomes at different times. For me, the organ-specific change opens a more interesting question about metabolic health; long-term outcomes remain open.

Tesamorelin visceral-fat findings

Tesamorelin takes the comparison toward another compartment: visceral fat, the fat around abdominal organs. Its pivotal trials enrolled adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, a pattern of altered fat distribution. A 2026 meta-analysis of five randomized trials reported a mean visceral-fat change of -27.71 cm2, with a 95% confidence interval of -38.37 to -17.06.

The phrase belly-fat treatment obscures the particulars I value in this result. The population matters, and so does the unit: an area of visceral fat says something a change in total weight leaves unresolved. Tesamorelin's FDA approval covers excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-related lipodystrophy; broader fat-loss uses remain off-label and investigational.

The tesamorelin page follows the hormone response, the imaging findings and the return of visceral fat after treatment stopped. The retatrutide page moves between liver fat, weight and glucose.

Combining tesamorelin and retatrutide

Different mechanisms make an appealing argument for combining compounds. I need more than that appealing argument to accept a clinical advantage. The tesamorelin visceral- and liver-fat trial and the retatrutide MASLD substudy studied the compounds separately, in different populations; neither tested the combination.

An additional benefit would need to be measured alongside the additional risks. Separate successes leave that experiment undone. The comparison of tesamorelin and retatrutide puts their trial results next to one another, and the questions page addresses the recurring claim that retatrutide's effect on fat creates a reason to add tesamorelin.
